At the top I added 12 nails to hold each individual spiral mega-string (red, green, blue C6 LED strings). One string per nail. I zip-tied the three LED strings together ever 3 or 4 bulbs to give me one mega-string. I used 100 count strings and folded them in half for the spiral tree. This gave me about 17 feet of string and would wrap the tree about 1 1/2 times.
